Weekly Round-Up 1st-7th Feb
Promising trials and success stories in Spain:
As well as retaining some players from January, our Spanish Soccer Academy also welcomed some fresh faces from UK, Bulgaria, USA, Kenya, and Canada. The old guard mixed with the fresh breed blended brilliantly and we were delighted to see the newcomers welcomed with open arms into the Academy by their teammates. This demonstrates the mentality and unity we look to promote in our players. We are also delighted to announce that some of these players are also being given opportunities to train with our sister club Alicante City FC which epitomises the opportunities we provide for our players, including exclusive trials for ACFC.
We are also able to boast a number of success stories including contracts being signed, and football trials being attended for teams in the Spanish leagues. Firstly the news broke that ex Academy graduate Hugh Alban Jones secured himself a deal with Hercules B who play in Tercera. This news was followed with ex ACFC graduate Felipe Acosta being announced as captain of Novelda CF. We were also delighted to hear that ACFC U23s goalkeeper Doriano Perazzelli had trials with Hercules B. All of these success stories demonstrate how we provide our players with a platform in which to develop and kick-start their careers. Starting from our Soccer Academy in Spain, our players can go on to sign for clubs in the Spanish leagues as well as our partner club Alicante City FC.
USA trial days:
We are pleased to announce that our USA Soccer Trials are expanding to more States than ever before. Florida, California, Pennsylvania, and Texas Soccer Combines have already been confirmed with more to come. We believe that too many players are overlooked by the US soccer system today and not given a fair chance to continue playing, with semi-professional soccer not being as as important as it is in other countries in the world, many players, who have a very good ability, are not able to continue playing if they miss out on the MLS draft. We decided to combat this by hosting football trials in the USA with the aim of helping players continue their careers at a high level overseas. Whether you are a college graduate looking to continue playing or a local player who was not scouted, Soccer Smart USA can help. We have many programs to help players succeed across the world including: USA, Spain, Gibraltar, Sweden, Australia, and New Zealand.
Opportunities for Women's soccer:
At Soccer Smart we understand that interest in the beautiful game spreads across all cultures and also genders with women's football growing every year. We have always provided opportunities for women to pursue their football careers and we are very happy to announce that we have recruited a new Head Consultant for Soccer Smart Womens. Our new Head Female Consultant is expertly placed to give valuable insight and advice as well getting female players signed to teams. This appointment shows our commitment to giving anyone interested in football the chance to pursue their dream and a platform from which to showcase their abilities and have the chance to play abroad in countries all over the world.
