Weekly Round-Up 24th-31st January
Players on trial stake a claim:
Our January trialists at our Spanish Football Academy have been training daily and aiming to impress our coaches and scouts during their football trials. For many players, a 1 day football trial can be a daunting experience with a heap of pressure on the shoulders of the players to perform and catch the eye all in one day. This is where we differ as we aim to give players the chance to showcase their abilities over a week or month long period where they are able to train daily and also compete in competitive matches. This takes away the pressure of a one day trial and gives players the chance to enjoy the beautiful game. This was evident when our players on trial were given the chance to stake a claim for a place in the team when they faced off against Alicante City Under 23s. And boy did they stake a claim. Although going 1-0 down in the first half, our trial players started to control the ball a lot more and were playing football with freedom and creativity which led to a thrilling second half in which five goals were scored to end the game 3-3. This included a wonder goal from our trialists as a chipped ball was controlled and brought down before being half-volleyed into the top corner from about 25 yards out. A goal even Puskas award winner would be proud of.
Beach football in January:
One of the main selling points of our Spanish Football Academy is the proximity of the beach in Spain’s Costa Blanca. Mixed with the all year round sunny weather we receive there, this makes it possible for us to give the players the opportunity to spend their downtime on the beach whilst still honing their skills such as ball control, teamwork, as well as fitness due to the sand. Beach football and beach head tennis are two such options that we like to provide which are fantastic sessions for the aforementioned skills but also give our players the downtime and beach relaxation that even footballers need. We are fortunate to be able to do these sessions any time of the year and even more fortunate to be in such close proximity to some of Spain’s most beautiful beaches.
Continuing success in Australia:
In one of our previous weekly round-ups, we wrote about the success we had achieved so far this year with regards to sending players to play semi-professional and professional soccer in Australia. We can proudly boast that this success is ongoing as three more players have also made the trip down under in the last week. This continuing success demonstrates our expertise in this area and our ability to make dreams a reality for many footballers looking to progress or start their careers. Whether these players come to our UK football trials, USA soccer trials, Spanish Football Academy, or even sign up to our agency and send in video footage, we are able to provide guidance and assistance to our players and help them to pursue their dreams, with Australia continuing to be a hub of interest both from the players we send, and the clubs in Australia who are on the lookout for new talent abroad.
