Winning weekend for ACFC:

All three Alicante City FC teams took to the field last weekend and were all looking to bounce back from defeats from the weekend prior and they emphatically delivered with victories for the 1st team, U23s, and U19s. What’s more is that all three victories were dominant performances with a possession focused and dominant style being embedded into all age groups of the club. This then makes any transitions within the groups more fluid as has been evident in recent months with promotions to the 1st team and U23s. This was also a great weekend for our Spanish Football Academy as we had more than fifteen ACFC Academy graduates playing across the three teams, including three turning out for the 1st team. Our exclusive football trials to partner club ACFC and potential trials to other teams in the Spanish leagues benefits clubs in Spain as well as players who don’t have the same opportunities in their own countries. By attending our Spanish Football Academy, these players have the chance to impress scouts and coaches on a daily basis and greatly improve their chances of being spotted to play semi-professional or professional football.

Success Stories:

Yet another week where we can proudly boast success stories including players on trial and also one Soccer Smart player who has been picked as the #1 draft pick. Four players went on trial with a club in Finland to obtain the chance to get paid to play football as well as experience what it is like to play abroad and all the benefits that go along with it. We were also delighted to hear that former Soccer Smart player Cory Bent was the Number 1 draft pick in the Canadian Premier League Draft and he will go on to join HFX Wanderers after his Canadian scholarship which Soccer Smart helped him to achieve. Bent, who hails from Preston, U.K., scored 24 goals during a four-year career that saw him switch from midfielder to striker with Cape Breton University. The 22-year-old earned three Atlantic university conference first-team all-star selections and two first-team all-Canadian nods.

Trials, Consultations, and more:

Our Soccer Smart Consultants have been working around the clock this week to ensure that our players get as many opportunities as possible to advance their football career. UK trial days and Soccer Combines are being organised and sign ups are coming in everyday. We are also handling many consultations with new and current players, including information about the upcoming trials as well as consultations on our opportunities available to play soccer in Australia, USA Scholarships, as well as many other opportunities including playing opportunities in Sweden, Finland, and more. With a new consultant being appointed for Soccer Smart Women last week, this has resulted in more interest and more consultations for female players as we try to cater opportunities to anyone and everyone that wants to advance their career in football.
