Weekly Round-Up 21st-28th February

Celebratory weekend for ACFC

The “Sister club” of our Spanish Football Academy had reason to celebrate last weekend as all three teams were unbeaten, with the First Team and the Under 23s coming away with the three points. Alicante City FC first team travelled to C.D Polop in a relegation battle six-pointer, knowing that they would have to give it everything they had to turn their recent fortunes around. A valiant display in which ACFC defended superbly, ended in a one-nil away victory in a match that was very much a must win. ACFC U23s hosted CF Playa Santa Pola City “B” and treated the fans to a spectacular goal-scoring display by winning the game 4-2 with a few superbly taken goals including an audacious goal straight from kick-off. These victories were also complemented by the number of graduates from our Spanish Football Academy playing throughout the three ACFC teams, contributing to their club and achieving their dreams to play football. We are ecstatic to be able to see them enjoying their football and pleased to know that we were able to help them on this journey which is only just beginning.

Success stories

This week we were treated to even more football success stories as another trial and a signing were announced. In last week’s round up we we able to announce that two players from our Spanish Football Academy were given trials to Benidorm CF, and this week we can proudly say that one of those players, Nathan Edgington, has secured a contract with the Spanish team playing in Segunda Division B. In another part of Europe, Soccer Smart Ltd were able to provide one of our players with the opportunity to trial with a football team in Finland. Nathan Monsanto, an American central midfielder, will travel to Finland to train with the club with a view to sign. By sending in video highlights to our consultants, attending our UK trial days or US Soccer Combines, players can be a part of our family and we endeavour to find them opportunities to play abroad whatever their level may be thanks to our large network of semi-professional and professional contacts.

Soccer Smart around the world

Due to the fact that we operate in the UK, USA, and Spain, the Soccer Smart team conducted a group Skype call so as to have everyone present to discuss upcoming Football trials and Soccer Combines. As we sat there with various backgrounds on our laptop screens, it epitomised our intention to provide as many opportunities as possible to as many people as possible. In some chat windows we were able to see a busy metropolitan street in the USA outside, in others a stereotypical UK black cab driving past, and in others a blue sky and palm trees from the Costa Del Sol in Spain. Not only do we have a global outreach with our staff and offices, but also when you factor in our club contacts from all over the world including Australia, Sweden, Norway, Gibraltar, and more, it emphasises our prominence and ability in the world of football recruitment.
