Weekly Round-Up 20th-27th March
MBA with full-time football
Some very big news coming out of the Soccer Smart camp is the announcement of The Soccer University which offers guaranteed full-time football in the Spanish leagues whilst also undertaking an MBA. Many players face the difficult choice of chasing the dream of playing professional football by grafting in the lower leagues, or give-up and follow the academic route by attending a University and undertaking an undergraduate or masters degree. The announcement of this one-of-a-kind course enables are players to play for our partner club Alicante City FC in the Spanish Leagues whilst simultaneously obtaining a masters degree. This nine month course starting in September 2020 is designed to place players into professional football or full time work upon completion of the course which enables players to not have to sacrifice either option.
#stayathome
The world is currently doing everything in it’s power to combat the COVID19 virus and all we can do at Soccer Smart is abide by these restrictions and give our thanks and respect to health and care workers and everyone involved in helping their communities. This crisis will pass, and being restricted to our houses doesn’t mean we can’t still help our players for the future. All of our consultants are getting in contact with clubs, colleges, coaches, and players by any means of communication necessary. We have also set up an online football trial so players can still have the opportunity to #playabroad. While our consultants work tirelessly from home, over in Spain, our players at our Spanish soccer academy are now entering week 3 of the quarantine put in place by the Spanish government and are not letting the lock-down get the better of them by practising daily technical and fitness sessions at the academy villa.
