New year, new coaches:

2020 has started with new developments in our Spanish Soccer Academy, with two new coaches being added to the roster. Adolfo Soto Villena has joined our Alicante City FC 1st team and Luigi Cordova takes over the under 23s. After only one week of training, both coaches took up their first challenge of the year as the 1st team and U23s took to the field against tough opposition over the weekend. And neither coach disappointed, with 2 wins from 2 games. On Saturday the U23s hosted Elche Dream C.F. "A", with a high number of International graduates from our football academy helping the team grab a well deserved 2-1 victory. This was followed by another impressive performance on the Sunday when ACFC took on Racing de San Gabriel and incredibly won 4-3 which included a dramatic comeback by overturning a 2 goal deficit in the last 15mins of the game. A valiant performance from the team which included 4 International ACFC Academy graduates. A big congratulations to all the players and the new coaches and a great way to start the new year!

Big year ahead for The US:

A big year is arriving for Soccer Smart USA, with Soccer Trial Days scheduled throughout the year and around the country. A big day in US soccer took place last week with the MLS draft happening which had Soccer fans all over the country glued to their phones to see the latest developments and scouting the next rising stars in American Soccer. Although an important day in US Soccer, it highlights the lack of opportunities that players in the States receive. There are hundreds, if not thousands of Soccer players with the ability to play at semi-pro or professional level and by holding Soccer Trial Days all over The United States of America in 2020, this will provide these players with a chance to be scouted and an opportunity to play abroad.
