Kenan Dewar
You as a player: I'm a central midfielder who's comfortable on the ball, energetic and can adapt to any style of play. I'm happy playing possession football at pace, I like to play with intensity and win the midfield battles and I also have good dribbling skills. My knowledge of the game is one of my strengths as I can play a number of positions in the middle of the park, as well as provide defensive or forward cover. My physical attributes are also strengths of mine, this includes my sprinting, jumping, strength and overall fitness. I am also a natural leader on and off the field, I always communicate with my teammates and coaches, respectfully and honestly and I will always try to push my teammates and keep spirits and morale up.
Nationality: British
DOB: 7/7/1998
Previous Clubs:
Stalybridge Celtic FC (Reserves)- 2014-2016
- From the ages of 16-18 I played for Stalybridge reserves, the first team played in the Conference North (National North). I played no first team games but it was great experience of playing in a professional football environment, as they were a full time club at the time.
Chadderton FC- 2016-2019
- I then played for Chadderton FC of the North West Counties league, for 1 entire season and then sporadically for 2 seasons while studying and playing at university. A strong competitive league that helped me mature as a player.
University of Chester Football- 2017-2020
- I played at university for my entire 3 years there, in the national BUCS leagues. In my first year I played for the 3rd (winning the cup) & 2nd teams, then in my second year I played for the 1st & 2nd teams and in my final year I coached and mainly played for the 2nd team but made a few appearances for the 1st team when needed. These years at uni gave me great experiences playing against great players, many who had recently been released from professional academies. It also developed my leadership skills as I coached and captained the 2nd team in my final year.
Cefn Albion FC- 2019-2020
- During my final year of studies I also played for Cefn Ablion in the Welsh National league Premier division (3rd division). As I initially struggled to get international clearance and then due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I played competitively between January and March 2020, but trained for the entire season with the squad. This gave me a great experience of playing in a competitive title challenging squad, as we were first or second in the league the entire time I was there. This helped develop my mentality as a winner as every training session and game was very competitive. It also gave me a great experience of playing in a different league system and playing in a team full of stranger
Current Clubs:
Heyside FC
- During the COVID-19 pandemic I have been keeping fit and sporadically been playing and training (when allowed by law) with local amateur side Heyside FC. They play in the top amateur league in the North West; The Manchester Premier league, the league below the North West Counties league. This has enabled me to still play some competitive football at a decent standard, when able to, albeit not often.
